deanna is the winner!!!

Yay for deanna coming up with the answer for the quote! Yes, it is from 10 Things I Hate About You. I think Allison Janie is my favorite guidance counselor when she flips off the kids outside her window. It is a good movie but now that Heath Ledger is dead, it's a great movie. :)

I started the new job on Tuesday. I definitely made the wrong decision. The hours are so flexible that I don't need to work tomorrow or Monday. Next week is a payroll week so I will get to learn that. I do get my own office which is nice. I also get a decent view. It's very quiet, the employees don't interact much, and there seems to be a high turnover. Those are just my initial reactions - I hope I'm wrong. Regardless, I've decided to be the happy spark in the office. :-)~ I do love the short drive. Vroom, vroom

School was closed yesterday because of snow. Yep, this little amount is enough to close almost all the schools in the greater Nashville area. We had beautiful snow flurries throughout the day, almost to the point of a white out, but it didn't stick. Jealous of our massive school closing snow? :)

Look closely, it's a kitty paw print on my back patio.

So what do we call tomorrow? Leap Day? Leap Year Day? Leap Year? Well, whatever you call it, have a happy day that only comes once every 4 years. Do something daring, crazy, something you would only do once every 4 years! Whatever you do, make it special and make it memorable. Oooohhh, get a tattoo. :)~

Catchy title

Jordan is a licensed soccer referee. She has an iron-on badge and everything!

I start my new job tomorrow. I'm looking forward to having a 15 minute commute. Not looking forward to trying to fit in to another company and being the odd girl out. There isn't a parking garage to deal with and there are sidewalks in the business park so while the weather is getting better I can get outside for a brief walk during lunch.

We are sorely disappointed with Devan's school and are looking forward to the end of the year. We visited a private Christian school here in Franklin and while it's very small, I was very impressed. He thinks that is where he would like to go to high school at least for one or two years. The school is currently 7th-12th grade. I'm not sure I want to pay private school tuition although around here private schools run well over $10,000 and this is much less than that so I guess it would be considered almost cheap. The school allows potential students to shadow for a day so he could get a real feel for what it would be like to go there. A friend of his goes there currently so the next in service day he gets, we'll have him shadow her. I definitely want to keep our options open and explore other school options since we know what one of the high schools has to offer. We are also going to check out the other high school. Jordan would love to be a part of that soccer team. She's not sure she wants to continue with soccer at her current school because her coach isn't someone who pushes them to better their game. Her school is better for math and sciences though. Guess we've got more research to do. :)

My toes are cold. I think I have poor circulation in my feet. Maybe it's gout. Didn't they use leeches to cure gout? Oh, Thomas Jefferson died from gout! I don't wanna die! Okay, I've decided, I don't have gout. Maybe I should get up and let you all get back to your "meaningless consumer driven lives." I've got $5 for anyone (except Devan or Jordan) who can tell me what movie that quote is from. :) Good luck ya'll.

Whiney Cat

Einstein has been so whiney lately that it has rubbed off on Jordan. I think Jordan is annoying herself! Einstein is annoying us all!

Tomorrow is my last day at this job. I've accepted a payroll position at another company that is closer to home. I'm cutting my commute in half. I'll be about 15 minutes away - with traffic. Since I don't have a support system in place and have a neighbor or mom I can call in an emergency to help with the kids, I need to be closer. This new job has good potential and I'm really excited for it. I did enjoy my time at Sitel and learned a lot in a short time.

Jordan has a soccer referee training class this weekend.

Okay, I'm bored and you probably are too. I'm not A.D.D. anymore, I'm just tired so don't care if I'm creative and amusing.

Kisses to all my admirers. :{}

My Mom's Boring!!!

Where is everybody darn it! Don't you know the only reason to ever look at these is for the comments you all leave! It's no fun to read them, my mom is boring!

Leave More Comments!!!!!

Thank you,
Jordan

ps. I'm glad we got the computer back finally. I was getting bored. There are only so many times you can read a book and my count for each is getting a little high. Ask my mom for more details. Then i can read your comments! ;)

Our computer is coming home

I can pick it up tonight. Guess what made it sick...yep, Windows Vista! I would hate to have the Karma of the creator of Vista. The money yes, the karma...no thanks!

Yay to me, I'm done with my taxes! Yippee! *doing happy little Snoopy dance* What, you don't know the Snoopy dance? He tips his head up and moves his feet really fast...anyway, I'm happy they are done and with very few tears I might add.

Jordan had her Brad Paisley concert Friday night. She had so much fun! She took a friend from school and I dropped them off outside the door and picked them up when it was over. There were a couple people that opened one of them she didn't know but the other was Rodney Atkins! He played two songs - both of which Jordan totally loves loves loves!!!!!! He sang "If You're Going Through Hell" and the one about the child who wants to be just like his dad. She almost liked Rodney Atkins better than Brad Paisley. :) By the time we got home she was so tired but she was still giddy the next morning. It was a great first concert! Everybody remembers their first concert and I'm glad this turned out to be such a fabulous experience/memory.

To make the weekend even better, Jord started soccer practice on Saturday. She is playing rec soccer in the county league.

Devan and I spent some time with Aunt Garnet (my mom's 90 yr old Aunt) on Friday. The rest of the family had gone out to a movie so we kept her company. Actually, Devan said "Hi" then went off and played video games. She is finally starting to act like an old woman. She has always been very spry and hates to sit still for long. It's a little depressing because she has never acted old but she REALLY likes the recliner she got for Christmas. She didn't like it at first because, according to her, recliners are for "old people." Shortly after Christmas she reached up to open the blinds on her window and pulled something in her hip. It wasn't broken but possibly tore a tendon or something in the soft tissue so now she doesn't trust her body as much and has become very comfortable in her recliner.

WWWWOOOOOOPPPPPPPP Lunch break is over. Just kidding, there isn't a bell like in the Flinstones. I just have to...what is it with me and cartoon references today...okay, feeling a little ADD (Attention Deficit Disorder) so I'm going back to work before this becomes completely impossible to follow. :)~

Lots to say, little time

I'm going to keep this short and sweet because I'm at work. I'm done for they day but don't want to be doing personal stuff on the computer for too long.

Here's our last week in a nutshell. The kids got their haircut. Jordan colored hers a rich chocolate brown. It's really pretty. Devan got lots cut off but left a few long strands. It looks soooo much better and now all these curls are popping out! I'll show pictures soon.

We are having issues with our computer and my computer repair guy hasn't called me back. Yeah, the one who invited me to lunch, that guy. He won't return my call now so I guess I'm going to have to find another computer repair place. There is one by work that will be really convenient that I just found. That is the reason for the long delay on updating you on our lives.

There was some major excitement last week at Jordan's school. There was a huge fight. The Hispanic kids seem to cause a lot of problems here and three of them took on a guy that sits at Jordan's table in art class. The halls were basically empty since it was just before lunch was ending and there were words passed. The three boys started a fight with Jordan's "friend" and two of them ended up running off while the third boy proceeded to get his ego bruised, his head split open, and knocked unconcious...then he started seizing. The cops were called, the ambulance came, the school was in lockdown, all four kids involved got a special police escort out of the building, and the rumors started flying! Some of the kids had already left the lunchroom so there were a few kids about but hardly anyone actually saw the fight. Jordan saw her tablemate in the hall and the only damage she could see on him was a red spot on his forehead that will probably just bruise. By the time the rumor hit Devan's school on Monday the boy in the hospital had died from getting stabbed! Gotta love junior high and high school embellishments.

There is snow today and the kids don't have school. My car had a solid, thick layer of ice on it this morning so I wasn't able to open my door let alone unlock it. It took a couple hours and Devan to knock the ice off and finally get the back back door open to climb through and unlock it. I wasn't the only one late for work. :) That's twice now that it has gotten so cold here that my locks have frozen and I've had issues getting into my car. I wasn't paying attention to the news or I would have left my car unlocked. Well, lesson learned.

Homeward bound. Nite.

We are fine!

The tornado didn't get us. It was a bit west of us so we just had a harsh but short lived Thunderstorm. That was about 8:45. The windows really rattled and the French doors that open to my patio threatened to break open but that was it. I slept peacefully until a massive bright light at 2:30 this morning made me wonder if I was in heaven or if I overslept and it was daylight. Then the light was gone and I knew it wasn't a dream because then there was a resounding boom of Thunder (still could be dream at this point- God?) and heavy rain pounding my windows (not heaven...). Follow this up with a dull thud so I had to get up to make sure all of our belongings were still on the patio. The upstairs neighbor had the same issue because I could hear someone walking to check on their patio residents. Oh, and it was around 70 degrees yesterday but it obviously was too windy to keep the doors/windows open long. :)

Hope you all had a fun Fat Tuesday and that the election updates were to your satisfaction.
