It seems like you don't encounter it as much anymore, but it seems like whenever we would go camping, some group, somewhere in the campground would bring a guitar and pretty soon, people would be sitting in a circle singing Kumbaya. It was usually hippies or church groups... I guess now it's a different song, but the sentiment is the same. It's still cheesy and I hate it when people do that...the singing part, not the gathering around part. I like gatherings. I also like going out to lunch and getting a text that the power is out at work and coming back into the office to see everyone gathered around my desk having a non-singing Kumbaya circle. And what is better than an hour and a half paid non-singing Kumbaya circle??? Getting to leave early on a Friday afternoon because they don't know when the power will be restored. Oh yea! Great way to start the weekend! :)
I got a really fun phone call this weekend with some wonderful news that as time goes on I'm sure I will share with everyone, but right now I've got to mind my tongue and not blurt it out. But it's SUPER!
To top off our weekend, Jordan and I got up bright and early, much to her chagrin, to meet my friend Michael at the park to take her senior pictures. My little cutie patootie is NOT comfortable in front of the camera but she finally relaxed a little to take some really great shots. It was funny because as Michael was in work mode, he would give her one word commands, like "stop" or "stay" which was hilarious because it was like he was speaking to a dog. She had me nervous at one point climbing down a muddy slope...I could totally see her slipping and falling into the river. To make matters worse, Michael was trying to take pics of her and was slipping on the bank opposite her and having a hard time keeping his footing. I wasn't so worried if she fell because I knew Michael had the camera ready and would get some great shots! I was worried that he would fall in and I'd have to replace his camera. At another point she was climbing a tree branch so awkwardly and clumsily but Michael somehow managed to capture a couple shots that actually made her look graceful. Ha! Graceful! That is not something that is usually said about ANY member of my family, let alone me or my offspring.

No History
I'm having a bit of nostalgia. Just found out that the college I graduated from might be closing. Sad. I've got some really great memories and stories about that place. Sad because there was always one last thing that I've always wanted to do there and now may not ever get the chance. Unfulfilled aspirations... :( Not to mention, now what do I put on my resume? My history will have a blank now.
My daughter can see! She got glasses and they are super cute. She waited patiently after having our appointment rescheduled - twice. Then when we picked them up, one of the lenses has a crack in it! It's teeny tiny and completely out of her line of vision, but SO disappointing though. They had to order a new lens and will pop out the cracked lens and then she will have her perfect glasses and perfect eyesight. Not to mention, she looks completely adorable. I may be biased, but her glasses look super on her. Stylish little thing got the Coach brand frames. Thank you UPS for having such great insurance plans!
