DEVAN BALDWIN!!!! Mr. Devan Baldwin has joined the high school marching band. He is playing the bass guitar so he doesn't actually march and do the formations, he has a generator and speakers so he is in the "pit." He just stands in a row of kids facing the crowd playing ginormous instruments that can't be maneuvered in the grass. He gets to wear a dorky marching band uniform and hates it because as all band uniforms do...it gives him a major wedgie. He is doing great and I was all set to take pictures Friday night and the threat of rain put a big WHOA NELLY on it all. The band still played but they didn't go on the field so they weren't in their uniforms. His best friend Shawn (super skinny) plays the tuba. He is the one who got Dev started. The band leader mentioned something about a wanting a bass player and Shawn pipes up that his friend plays the bass and within a week Dev decided to do it. He is having fun and working hard. For those of you who have seen the American Pie movies...don't worry, I have already addressed that issue and told him that the first time I ever here a story start with "...this one time at band camp..." NO MORE MARCHING BAND for him!!!!
They play at the games on Friday nights and then they have competitions on Saturdays. At the away games they still do the whole formations thing and everything - they treat it like a mini competition between the two schools. He was mortified at his actual first game performance though. It was a home game and they announced all the band members and then they announced that there was a new member of the band and it was his first time in a band and his first performance with the CHS band and will everybody give a big welcome to... If ever my son wanted to be invisible - it was then!!!

I don't have TB
Today I am no longer a temp! I passed my drug test and TB test and even though I didn't shave and the doctor had to touch my hairy legs, I passed my physical. I get to sit through training all day but then sometime next quarter I get to tour one of the facilities. I get to go to jail! ...and I'm kind of excited about it! :D
This has been a crazy end of summer and since I'm updating this on my lunch break you will have to wait to find out. (I should write for the news don't you think? Like one of those teasers they give right before a commercial or during mid-day to make you want to watch the regularly scheduled news.)
The reason I didn't update during August...my stupid neighbor secured their internet! No more freeloading for me, I'm gonna have to pay and I REA-HE-HE-LY don't want to!!!!! So you had to wait.
A huge CONGRATULATIONS to my friend Pavlina. Yay!!! Yippee!!! **insert Snoopy dance cuz its fun and seems appropriate for celebrating** She just graduated and is now a what? licensed or certified or something...Acupuncturist! Anybody need acupuncture email me and I will get you in touch with her. :) (Pav, hows that for a free plug?)
I leave you with the promise that I will update this more than once every couple months. Later tater.
