It's a very good thing that I was too exhausted last night to update this. I was mean and hateful yesterday after my drive home. I had to be COMPLETELY anti-social by the time I got home or I would have said awful awful things. What happened you ask?! It snowed in Tennessee. Grrr! EVERY SINGLE person who had driven to work, left work at exactly the same time and 99 percent of them don't know how to drive in the snow! It took me four and half hours to get home! FOUR AND A HALF HOURS!!!!!! I literally went 2.4 miles in 2 hours. The best part - .4 of that was when I had to turn around and go back the way I came because the cops closed the road. ACK! If people had been able to hear what I was saying or worse yet thinking, I'm sure I would have gotten slapped and or punched quite a few times. It's a good thing I filter my words before I speak because sometimes what I'm truly thinking is really not nice. In fact, it's downright mean. It's charming when House does it, but in non-TV world, people don't like it and don't put up with it. People put up with House because he's brilliant and they need his help, nobody really needs my help and while I think I'm brilliant, nobody would put up with me if I behaved like House.
Instead, let's talk about happy things. There is a positive side to the cold snowy weather. Besides that everything is bright and the sky is clear, the sun comes out during the day and begins to melt the snow which means....icicles! Not only are they super interesting to look at, but they are even more fun to kick! It's such a simple pleasure but it brings me so much joy to get to kick the icicles off my car.
I know you caught that I said "things" in the paragraph above and yet I mentioned only one thing there. Well, icicles is plural so technically, they could be the only happy things I was referring to, but alas, I'm not done talking to you about happy things. Bendy straws! Yes, I did say bendy straws. You know they secretly make you happy too. There is a restaurant around here that we will go to occasionally that gives you a bendy straw. I always forget they have bendy straws so when I open my straw, I'm pleasantly surprised and of course to have pull it open all the way then close it then open it then close it as if playing an accordion. Hey, I found an instrument I'm good at playing: the accordion straw! Although after I'm done playing my straw, I have a small moment of indecision when I then have to decide on the angle of the bend in the straw. It can be so stressful. I mean, bent too far then I have to lift my drink up too far and its awkward and not bent enough and what's the use of having a bendy straw. It's very difficult finding just the right angle for my straw. The best part is though, the straw is totally accommodating to my indecisiveness since I can adjust it before or after each drink. It's almost as if its challenging me to be indecisive and I gladly oblige. Aaaahhhh, simple pleasures.
