There was this guy at work last week who has a cough. Now this isn't just any cough. Normal coughing is just noise, even bad coughing can be a little annoying, but mostly you feel sorry for the person coughing. Not this guy at work. He had a really bad FREQUENT cough. At least once every 2 minutes he would cough and it would resonate throughout our area of the building. Not only was it constant throughout the day and really bad that did sound very painful, but the guy got voice in it. Almost like a choke. He would cough and I could tell what his voice sounds like - EVERY TIME! It was so bad and loud and distracting that I couldn't feel sorry for him but instead I found myself feeling bad for all the people sitting near him.
I'm beginning to think that Williamson County Soccer doesn't really have an outdoor spring rec league but rather fronts that they do to collect people's money. Yep, once again - game cancelled! That's 3 games scheduled 0 games played. Oh, but they did have team pictures. Obviously it rained this weekend. They are big babies about playing in the rain here. Waah, waah, the fields might get messed up...who cares, it's grass, it's resilient.
I still don't know if I get to go perm at this job or not. I know I have at least two more weeks. Right now I just hope that Coughing Cough-erton has visited the doctor and gotten something to help stifle his mutated voice filled cough/choke.
Sorry, I haven't been updating regularly, I haven't been on the computer much lately.

The Pool Is Open!
Our pool is officially open. It's not even warm enough to swim yet but it's open just in case.
Nothing much to mention. Same old same old going on.
We've got soccer game this weekend and hopefully Jordan can ref a couple. Jordan is just getting over an ear infection. She can't take pills - has a hard time with the little Advil tablets - so is opening the pill and dumping the contents into a small glass of water and taking it that way. It's fairly tasteless and just a little gritty but she doesn't gag on it and doesn't have to feel like a baby by taking the pink bubble gum flavored liquid antibiotics.
I'm boring myself so I apologize to you all who were looking forward to reading my witty stories and comments - this is a total disappointment and not really worth your time.

Wendy Gail Breeze
No, I didn't misspell windy; although it is terribly windy tonight through tomorrow. It serves two purposes one to refer to the weather and the other because it is the name of a girl I was friends with in college. It also segways really nicely into a new book called Bad Baby Names. It refers to the song Boy Named Sue by Johnny Cash. It talks about how poor name choices affect people and it gives examples of real names claimed in the census. There are some crazy names but my favorite was Garth Vader. He was fine with his name thinking it wasn't so bad until the 70's hit and Star Wars happened. I'm sure Garth would love to meet Steven Spielberg in a dark alley. My other favorite was Bud Walker whose children were listed as: Buddy, Little Bud, Little Buddy, and Least Buddy. A couple more in my top favorites were Mary Christmas and Happy Day. How much fun would it be to answer the phone with those names?! Oh - if they were roommates...!!!!

Oops, Sorry, I lost track of time
I didn't realize I hadn't updated this during the week.
My job is going well. I will now be there at least until April 7th. While I don't love A/P there is a lot of variety in it and it is more involved than the payroll with this company. They do have ties to the Pac NW. They have doctors placed at Southwest Washington Medical Center. :) I was originally just filling in but since I will be there another 3+ weeks they are going to train me on the desk I'm covering.
Jordan is fighting off an ear infection right now. We've been putting drops in and it is finally starting to pop. There is a little drainage as well so the pressure and pain are tolerable without ibuprofen.
Her soccer game was cancelled this weekend. Her coach was glad because he was out of town. This was her second game that was cancelled. The first one was because of snow, this time it was rain and thunder and lightening. The fields here can't handle the rain. They don't have any sort of drainage capabilities. They have grass fields here and since they don't get much rain, they just don't create them to handle any rain. So far she's had two games but played zero. I think she is a little happy because she has started a three month training/fitness program to whip her into shape. By the time she finally gets to see the field she will have had some classes and won't feel quite so out of shape.
It's Spring Break and the kids are ssssssssoooooooooooooo happy. The weather is supposed to be decent this week too. We got Jordan's report card - yep, all A's. Her lowest grade was in French and it was a 94%. She feels awful about that. It's too low for her liking. You can roll your eyes, I did. We don't have Devan's yet. It will probably come next week. He's expecting a couple A's and a couple C's the rest B's.
The city is doing construction on the road in front of our apartment complex. They are turning the water off from tonight at 7 pm until tomorrow morning at 7 am! That is a long time to have the water turned off and by 7 am most people have left for work so nobody gets a shower in the morning. Ew. We filled up our tub and made sure to shower tonight plus have a pot of water for drinking. I told Jordan she could drink from the tub but she didn't like that idea. :O
Now even more reason to love the month of March. March 4th is the second best day ever (the 14th being the best) because it is the only VERB in the calendar! How cool is that?! If you don't get it -ask someone but I hope they make you feel like a fool for having to ask and for not knowing your verbs. :-)

Fun weekend
Devan got home from his concert okay. There were a few bands there but his favorite was Aiden. He survived the arena setting with minimal bruising.
The snow is all gone. The sun came out around 1 on Saturday and began melting it. Today was clear and sunny and fairly warm so the leftover snow is completely gone. Devan went out and had fun sledding down our hill. Jordan stayed inside where it was warm.
On Seinfeld they did this episode about the "soup Nazi." This guy has a soup shop and doesn't like his clients to hesitate on giving their order. While in line you move along and when he is ready you give him your order and don't ask questions. On Friday I went to lunch with a couple ladies. We went to Joey's Pizza. The guy behind the counter was the Italian version of the "soup Nazi." He was awesome! He was up and down the counter getting pizza's out of the oven, plating orders, taking orders, and serving up completed orders. He was loud and boisterous and made me exhausted just watching him. The line was really long but it moved pretty quickly and the food was excellent.
Devan and I ate at Logan's Roadhouse tonight for dinner. Jordan didn't want to go because she wasn't hungry and had already put her pj's on. It was fun because they have a bucket of roasted peanuts on the table and you throw the shells on the floor. They have these cute mini desserts that come in a little tin bucket. We didn't get any but had fun checking them out at the neighboring table.
I have to get to bed now, I'm still working at least through next week. Keep your fingers crossed for me that I can turn it into something permanent or long term.

Lots of Snow
Wasted on a Friday night! We have at least two inches but it didn't start until dark. Plus it's Friday night so the kids feel it's a total waste because they don't even get to miss school.
Devan is at his concert. I don't know who the bands are that are performing but he texted me and said he's having an AWESOM time! I'm a little nervous for him to get home right now. Our hill is treacherous for Tennesseans in foul weather so this snow is causing many to park in the lower lots and walk up the hill. I watched someone in a Jeep struggle up the hill. A Jeep! Hello, it's a Jeep, it's got 4 wheel drive and can cruise up a minimally snow covered hill! Pop it into low and just go! I'm not sure how his friends dad is driving in the snow so I told Devan to let me know if I need to drive down to the road to meet them.
Okay, gotta worry and bite my nails to the quick. Worse than normal. :)~

A Late Freeze
We have another cold front moving in tonight so Jordan may not have a soccer game on Saturday after all. The fields will be in bad shape if it rains and freezes. All the fields here are grass and they don't withstand the harsh weather very well. Jordan was a little excited to play in the game but nervous too. She is back to playing defense and is having to adjust her game but she's transitioning well.
I like the new job. I don't mind that I'm doing A/P and the people are friendly. The company relocated from California last year and the only people that transferred were the top executives. This means everyone is fairly new and they are all learning together. I am definitely going to push my recruiter to encourage them to keep me on after the two weeks.
Devan is going to a concert tomorrow night. Christian singer/songwriter Michael W. Smith opened a place called Rocket Town in Nashville. It has indoor skateboarding and they hold concerts there. The concerts are usually small with up and coming performers and they keep the concert prices between $10-$25.

Reassigned
The recruiter who placed me at the bum job is feeling so guilty that he has been working really hard to find me something else. I have a temp assignment for now helping in A/P. It's supposed to be about two weeks but I'm sure I can impress them enough to keep me on. :)
Okay, enough of the play by play for today.

On the dole?
The lady's kid has mono so I'm unemployed for now. If I haven't found anything in the next week or two then she is more than happy to have me come back. She will be working late at night to get her stuff done so she won't be able to train me. It's very disappointing that I gave up the other job for this one.
AAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

Footloose and fancy free
I have no idea what that means. My feet aren't loose and what's fancy free? Fancy things aren't free, they are usually expensive and if you are going for fancy as a verb - what, it's free to "fancy" something? Are you thoroughly confused yet?
Oh, good news, I don't have gout! Turns out I do have a case of the cheapies. I was just cold because I don't like to turn the heat up. This weekend was fabulously comfortable. The kids and I spent some time at the park. Devan was skateboarding and Jordan and I walked. The weather is still really warm but it's damagingly windy. Is that word? Damagingly? It looks weird. Well, it fits if it is a word.
Jordan has her first game this weekend. She is very nervous because she feels very out of shape. It won't take her long to get back into shape but for some reason her age group cannot practice more than once a week. She's going to have to do some running on her own so I'll be going to the park to walk while she runs laps around me. :)
I'm also trying to figure out what kind of toy I am. Well, at least what kind of toy my new boss thinks I am. I did get another day off though. Last week was a three day work week and this week is shaping up to be the same. While I enjoy having the time off, I would enjoy a full paycheck more. This position is turning into a disappointment and fast.
A little funny - the town is set up with the residential areas in subdivisions and there is one overly large subdivision that is very pedestrian friendly. While I'm not keen on the huge subdivision it has everything else we want. As we are considering it as a viable location to purchase I discovered that there is a Clarendon Circle there! How ironic would it be that I move 3000 miles away and end up living on Clarendon again!? *I grew up on Clarendon St in Gladstone. My mom still lives there.* Now if it were "Main St" or even a numbered street or a wood like elm or oak, it wouldn't be as funny but Clarendon? That is not a common name and the idea of us living on Clarendon in Franklin provided the kids and I with at least 1o minutes of fun conversation and hypothetical dialogue. It doesn't matter where we live, if it's not a really common name, Jordan won't remember it. :-)~
