School started! Devan looks very handsome in his khaki pants and button up shirt. He's decided to embrace the non-uniform uniform that the school requires starting this year. I've been driving Devan to school in the mornings. His school is between home and my job so I've been going to work early, and walking around the neighborhood for about 20 minutes before heading into work.
Jordan and I have come to an agreement. For her sanity and mental well-being, she is going to return to Oregon for now. While it's not ideal, it's a better option than having her continue going to school here and sinking deeper and deeper into herself. She will be surrounded by the familiar and her friends. She is going to live with my mom but will probably be spending the majority of her time at her friends house. Her friend is the last child left at home and they've got plenty of room and enjoy having Jordan over. It was really difficult coming to this decision. I feel like I'm having to choose between the lesser of two evils.
I'm not happy about it and will miss her but when it comes down to it, she would rather be there than here. We are going to re-evaluate our location once I'm a little more stable in my job. Which is turning permanent! Yay me. Needless to say this has been an emotional week, deciding to send my daughter away, my baby starting high school, and the promise of going permanent once the details are worked out with the staffing agency.
On the upside, we are having fun watching the Olympics! We are totally getting into it and have watched quite a few things. So far our favorites are the swimming and the beach volleyball but we've seen a bit of diving and regular volleyball and fencing and soccer and the coolest game ever, Russian Handball. That game is really interesting. We've been trying to see all Michael Phelps races and once the kids saw the relay race, they were hooked. Gotta go cheer on the swimmers! Butterfly starting!!!
Bye.
