The Holidays were great. My crafty and cunning ways totally worked in my favor. I was off work on Christmas Eve so did a little running around to get my ugly ornament and pick up one more gift. Success on the gift and success on the ugly ornament. Christmas Eve was fun though, a friend came over and as we were walking out the door to go to a candlelight Christmas Eve service, the kids decided to come with us.
I like to think it was my ability to lay on the guilt with my comment "I'd really like it if you came with us." Devan was in shorts and a sweatshirt and Jord had just gotten out of the shower so her hair was all wet, but they came. :) We came home afterward and had a simple dinner then decided to paint ornaments. We spent the rest of the evening painting these cute wooden ornaments I found at the craft store. I love that I can get those around me to do nerdy stuff with me.

Christmas morning was full of fun presents, good company, and a super yummy breakfast. I think my plate was magic. When I sat down to eat there was already food on my plate and when I got up to get something from the kitchen more food appeared on my plate. Magic! I did try grits Christmas morning. Rest assured, I'm not turning southern on all y'all, I didn't like the grits.
The ugly ornaments this year were great - as usual...

and the winner is...the fox with the wanky eye! Submitted by Devan's bff - Sean.
OOOHHHHHH, EEWWWW!!!! I just reached down into the edge of the sofa and came up with a bunch of pretzels, a few candy wrappers and 8 count them, 8 ponytail elastics! Gggaaaaahhhhh.
New Year's was nice and quiet. I did manage to stay up and ring in the new year. Yay me! Devan's best friend Sean came over so they stayed home and played guitar and played on their computers. Jordan and I went to dinner with my friend and his son.
One of Devan's favorite gifts was a Boba Fett helmet (character from Star Wars). As we were leaving the pizza place after dinner, a couple guys came walking in wearing...Boba Fett helmets! Too funny. Helmet heads unite!

Now we've got the threat of a full on blizzard. They are anticipating 5-6 inches of snow. The city will come to a halt and there will not be bread or milk within a 50 mile radius. They've already closed school in our county as well as 10 other counties. So far no snow. Hope it wasn't a bunch of hype but so far...............nothing..........*sigh* (insert eye roll for the overly dramatic reaction to the POSSIBILITY of snow)

Looks like tons o' fun was happening at the Baldwin household. :) The ugly ornaments are definitely ugly, but I think the true winner of ugly ornaments HAS to be my son's from this year...he found an ornament that looks like a pile of poo! It's got snow on it so it was festive! EWWWWWWW!
