The guy who was the voice of Snoopy died. He was 91. I didn't know Snoopy spoke. I thought he just made noises. Maybe the headline shouldn't read the voice of Snoopy, it should read the guy who makes noises for Snoopy. Who knew. I can use that as my I learned something new today thing.
I'm getting a blaring reminder of why I didn't want my children to continue in Gladstone schools. My daughters English class is reading 1 book, 3 acts of a Shakespeare play, and some poems. (They aren't reading the whole play because the teacher only likes the first three acts.) They will also be doing 2 speeches...THE ENTIRE YEAR!!!!! I asked Jordan if she raised her hand and asked the teacher what they are going to do after the 1st month. Seriously, that is so - UGH,... words fail me right now! Oh wait, pathetic. That's fitting. This is a sophomore English class and that is basically all they are doing along with a few writing assignments. Not only that, but the teacher gave them a task to write adjectives about themselves then took the time to explain to the class what an adjective is. !!! Seriously?! Okay, again, SOPHOMORE English class - they should know what an adjective is by now. Poor Jordan. I feel so sorry for her, she is going to be so extremely bored. Not to mention the book is To Kill A Mockingbird. I'm pretty sure she read that in 6th grade. This will be her one and only year in Gladstone High School. Her Chemistry and Math classes are good so far. Mind you, chemistry is a junior/senior class. I'm fairly certain she is going to sit through her English class wishing she could cover her teacher with post it notes. Now you all know what to get her for Christmas. :)
Want something fun to do, google search butt cleavage images. I had to do a presentation on the dress code for work. I was trying to come up with pictures of what can happen if you are wearing low rise jeans and have to bend over to move a roll of labels. Keyword butt crack gets nasty old men butts and I wanted to get a woman example. I tried whale tail but that got me oceanic whales. Sorry Shamu, not you. I tried plumbers butt only to get men and a nasty porno-ish something referring to butt plumbers. Eeewwww. Then I tried butt cleavage. Voila! Perfect pictures of the female plumbers butt. I didn't even bother with say no to crack, that would have just given me a bunch of druggies. The pictures were blurry enough to not be gross, just totally amusing and effective in our presentation.
Jump to the random. I just looked over by the sofa and my son has a pair of boxers on the floor. I don't know if they are clean or dirty. I think they are clean and just fell off the pile of his folded clothes but I really don't know. The best part is, he had a friend over after school. Yeah, they were hanging out here in the living room playing Guitar Hero with a pair of underwear in the middle of the floor. Boys. (heavy sigh followed by eye roll)

I thought he was an illustrator. At least that's what our lovely Vancvouer paper said. :) I saw that the guy was 91 and thought he had a long and full life. My comment was..."good for him for living so long!"
That english class sounds like a bunch of slackers. No wonder our children are dumb. Sheesh!

Is she in a regular English class or an advanced English class? The advanced class would likely be more challenging.
